Chris Gorsuch was raised in the foothills of New York’s Catskill Mountains. From his earliest memories Chris has been drawn to the waters edge. Lakes, rivers, ponds, streams or any impound that held fishing opportunities. Little has changed and Chris still finds any excuse to get out on the water. The great outdoors continue to call, it is a passion that has opened up wild game and multi-specie angling opportunities across the United States and Canada.
As a freelance writer and photographer, Chris has been contributing to outdoor publications since 1997. He is currently on the contributing writing staff of Pennsylvania Angler & Boater Magazine and his photographs can be found on covers and pages of various outdoor publications. His areas of expertise are river smallmouth fishing, outboard jet drives, kayaking and boating.
Chris is an associate fishing guide for the Backwoods Angler who specializes in guided smallmouth bass trips on the Delaware, Susquehanna, Juniata and Lehigh Rivers. Chris runs a 2006 18' Custom Snyder Jetboat for his guided trips. This craft is built for the shallow rocky rivers common in the Eastern US.
